Cyn, I'm really sorry to hear your chicky didn't hatch. This was a pullet egg right? That is a common occurence in them..sometimes their just too small/weak to emerge from the egg. Keep trying tho...as the eggs grow a bit, hatchability improves (even while they're still pullets).

Yes, Jody, it was her first egg, although not that small in actuality. I was only incubating till four days to test the fertility originally and when I saw beautiful veins, couldn't crack it open, so decided to just let it hatch if it could. Well, I certainly verified fertility, didn't I? I have more of her eggs and two of the other blue Amerauanas eggs in the bator now, so maybe I'll get a couple of pullets from those four. Thanks again. I sure do want more pullets out of these two girls, especially the darker blue one, Charlotte. She is an absolute doll and I want her temperament in any bird I own. Thanks for the good thoughts.
 
Oh gosh, so sorry to hear. I would have done the same thing, well you KNOW I did early on day 22 on mine.

Boy its time consuming breaking that little hole in the air cell on 21 eggs, lemme tell ya.

I so wanted her to hatch for you, I really would have been heart broken if I had found a lot of mine had developed that far.
Well keeping my fingers crossed for the next ones due!

Im sorry!!! That is such a bummer when they develop that far. You will just have to try again.

Here's hoping that the next ones hatch! I've had several develop that far. It is so dissappointing that they make it so far with everything looking Ok and then nothing.

It's hard when they're that perfectly developed like that and just don't hatch. :-/
 
So Sorry Cyn....there will be more! Even those who could not make it while the others survive is mother nature's way of dealing with things.
