I have an external pip on 1 out of 2 remaining eggs.

The embryo broke the shell just under the air cell. I made sure the membrane was pierced. How long should I wait before it can be assumed that the embryo needs help?

When did you last trace air cells...or did you see this by candling?
Often the air cells draw down after last tracing at day 18, so what appears to be a pip outside of cell(side pip) is in fact not.

At least 24 hours after external pip, 48 if pip is actually a side pip (not thru air cell). I hope that makes sense.

Saw it through candling. I don't trace air cells.

It's 48 if you 100% sure it didn't pip internally. This one should be able to hatch on it's own, I've had a lot do this.
