Cyst on chicks knee

I have a chick that walks with it's leg kicked out I couldn't cull it yet one knee joint is twice the size if the other I was checking it out today and thought it had some dry gunk on it I peeled it back and it was a scab I looked closer and just looks like a fleshy knot was wondering had this happened with anyone else or had anyone tried to remove the knot before
