Cysts? Or?! Have you ever seen this?!

After discovering a rather nasty looking injury in my ameraucana roo's leg, I started treating him. But after further inspection, I found his entire body patchy with what looks like ingrown feather follicles. They are hard lumps, and I just have no idea what to do!

Looks like something you'd run across in a tidal pool, not on a chicken.

Are these follicle swellings where there are new pin feathers emerging? Or are they also present in areas where there are full grown feathers?

Is he scratching and nibbling at these areas? I'm wondering if he feels any discomfort from them.

I would be inclined to use Vetericyn wound spray on these and see if that reduces the swellings.
