Ok I needed to make a ground Nest Box today for my Red Crested Pochards. So I took pic's along the way. For your Sides and Bottom you cut three pieces 2' x 15" (2 ft x 15 inches) You will Need a divider piece about 4" tall x 2' long. Your Side pieces will be 16½" x 15"

On your bottom piece measure out 8" from the smallest end 15" end. Draw your line for your divider piece.

Now line the center of your divider up with the center of your drawn line. Now Nail it.

Put your Sides together and Nail them to your bottom as well as your divider.

Once your sides are nailed together you can start to draw out your hole for the entrance. This hole needs to be about 5" . Now you will need to drill a few holes to allow the Jig saw blade room to start cutting your hole out.

Here you can see a better pic.

Now start cutting out the entrance with your Jig saw.

Once your entrance is cut out. It should look like this.

Now time for the Lid. I cut the lid 28" x 19" this way I have a little bit of a over hang.

Time for the hinges. I didn't have any hinges at the time so I used some old heavy duty tie down strapping.
