Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

High pitched Weeeeeeeeeeeee.  So Cute it's sickening.  I want to pick up Pippa and squeeze and kiss him.  How can you stand the cuteness?  Geez, I am weird about these ducks and do not own a one nor have ever seen one in real life.  Give Perdy a high 5 to her web for her hard work!!

Thank you @Julie Bird! They are pretty cute :) And, you should really get one!

I'm just wondering. The pics I've seen the Call Ducks have really short beaks and looks almost stuffed-animal-like. These have longer bills and look kinda like Mallards?...

My Calls are pet quality! The Calls with really, really, really short beaks are show quality! My Calls beaks are longer than show quality but much shorter than a Mallards! There's a wide variety with Calls! From what I've heard and read it's difficult to get that perfect head, beak, and body! That's not what's important to me anyway! They're my pets, I don't 'show them' I love them exactly the way they are! :)

Those little stuffed animals are really high quality call ducks. Most people have call that look like amandavirginias. No offense to amanda or anyone else. Not to brag at all but here is my chocolate male and you can see he has a itsy bitsy beak but not a huge head. He has a big head but not huge. While I have a pastel male who has a huge head. Amanda's ducks are still beautiful and have great colors! (Another SQ characteristic is color) You can also see in Amanda's pics that her calls have the squat bodies. I think there only problems are their beaks and heads. Beaks you can breed shorter in a few generations heads are harder. You must be willing to pay a pretty penny for good SQ call ducks. This choco male costed me a big price! If I recall correctly he was 100 and his mate was 100... or he was 120 and his mate was 80. You can also see that female grey in my profile pic, that she has a short beak and has a squat body with legs in the middle and a big chest! You cant see her head but it is bulbous as well.

that body description you just posted Mitch, is what makes these little ducks sooo hideously cute to me.

Your calls have great color amanda! That male of yours has one of the best colors I have seen! (I mean other than ones that have like one the nationals) Your female is great too! I cant see your snowy that good but to me it looks like he could use a bit more snow (White speckles). Still beautiful! For just the backyard hobbiest pet quality is fine! But since I show I need real good genetics so that means a real high price...

Mitch, your boy is soo seriously adorable.

AmandaVirginia, wish I could have one but I am a renter in a townhouse and the owner would never allow it. So I enjoy myself here with all you fun people and awesome little ducks.

That what makes them soo popular!!! You should look at buying calender of them from the national breeders of america! The guy I bought my ducks from just sold his national winning pastel mle for 500 dollars! For one duck! He said it earned him about 2500 in shows so he made his money back! If I recall he said that with sq parents that do fine in local and state shows only 1 in 90 of their children will be good enough to even qualify in nations. He hatches about 900 ducks a year and always sells each one! When I buy local from him his prices are actually great! Only about $75 or $100 dollars for a good quality great genetics breeder pair.

Thanks! I will have to take a pic of him in the summer! With his summer feathers all cleaned (Because my ducks stay in an outdoor aviary all year they get much better feather quality then ones that stay in those lifted cages) he is absolutely stunning! Just breathtaking! With his big head, little beak, and plump body and his beautiful dark brown chesnut! I will have my aunt, a professional photographer, take a photo with her good camera. Mine can just not get the color right!
