Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Pics
In my short experience I would say not normal, I didn't have a single hen crack any eggs, I was getting I would say an egg every other day.

It all depends on the bird itself. Are your Birds SQ, BQ, or PQ?
If they are SQ then they will lay very few eggs. I know a call duck breeder from Texas that has SQ females that only have laid 4-5 eggs this year.
BQ and PQ will lay quite a few more eggs.

It also varys on what they are eating, environment, if they are stressed out, and etc.

My hen lays an egg everyday for four or five days and then every other day and so on. I was incubating her eggs and i had trouble in the begining, mostly because i didn't know what i was doing. I let my hen sit on two of her eggs because i didn't have the heart to keep taking them. Like i said in an earlier post i thing the ones that she hatched on her own are stronger and eating more things than i can give the ducklings in the brooder. I tried to take them out to the mom and her babys but mom wanted nothing to do with them. The outside ducklings are very friendly with the indoor ducklings. I am going to keep trying everyday. I have been putting them in a carrier and setting them in the duck run, the babys want to get together but i'm worried about the adults. Anyway my little call hen does a better job than i do at sitting and hatching than i do. I'm going to let her do it on her own from now on. Even dad is good. I watch them on a camera thats hocked up to my tv and i can see dad sit in front of the nest watching over mom and the babys. OH SO CUTE.

I think the line of birds itself may be a factor as well, it does have an effect on other types of birds.

Here is a more specific breakdown. My BQ butterscotch did essentially nothing, my SQ whites were on the lower end of production, the SQ Pastels and Blue fawns though made up for the whites and butterscotch.

Here is my call duckling from my blue snowy pen(which has a pair of blue snowy and a blue bibbed duck. I don't really know what color to call this one..but I think his\\her legs are too short...NOT
