Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Nope, all part of growing up, and she's going to be thinking, "LITTLE BABY BEANS!!! YAY!!!"

I remind you, we're talking about a duck who is terrified of watermelon.

Even when cut into teeny, tiny pieces? :p I dunno. I just don't know what to do with her, she's such a neurotic mess! ...Kinda like her mama.

No, they don't scare me if somebody cuts them into pieces, only when I have to cut them myself. I leave that to the hubby since he loves any excuse to use the power tools.

Seriously, though, it might be the color. The vast majority of the ducks I have now and have ever had won't touch food that's red or pink. Do you have trouble getting her to eat in general? I know I'm way behind on BYC posts after being away for a good while, but I haven't seen anything about Bean recently, or even Wobbles. I started to PM you last weekend to see how things were going with them, then I got pulled away and forgot to do it.

Actually yeah, I do have a problem getting her to eat! She's so easily distracted, something, ANYTHING, will make a noise, she'll look up, and forget she was hungry. Blerg.

Also, power tools to cut a watermelon? Oh, please tell me there's video of that!

Many videos, of that and other things. I can't share most of them while I'm pitching my new reality show about outdoor husbands, which will be about the ones that are kept in the yard, garage, and workshop. I'm documenting how they survive in the wild until instinct drives them into residential housing late at night to ask things like, "What's for dinner?" and "Have you been using my bandsaw?"

I've got Winter on Grower/Finisher as she is 3 months old and I've got my two day old babies on Starter/Grower. Any recommendations for a 'Flock Raiser' I can feed both Winter and my two day old babies? I'd love to only have to get one bag of duck feed! Thank y'all in advance! :)

I use Purina Flock Raiser for all of my ducks. I mix in a little Purina Game Chow for the extra niacin but not really necessary

Update on lavender #1 who is starting to feather

Hello!
Does anybody have tips on how to tame 2 month old call ducks? I have started to hold each one every night for 10 minutes, it takes them a few minutes to calm down, but after they relax and I pet them. They are currently eating Turkey Starter, but since they are all feathered out, what should I be feeding them now?

Thanks!
