Yes she did brood and hatch all the babies herself...she has raised 17 call ducklings all to adulthood!! My call ducks have been fantastic brooders and are very protective of their young...I have had very little success with incubating call duck eggs and I personally think that the mother duck knows what to do best :)

Are they easy to tame and are they good mothers? Also, will they get along with other ducks?

If regularly handled from an early age, the ducklings can become very tame and it also helps if you have a tame mother duck too...yes I think that they make excellent mother ducks...all my female ducks have gone broody before and have raised their young to adulthood and are now living together as a family in the garden :) All my call ducks get along with my other breeds of ducks, including Khaki Campbell's, Cayuga's ( which are a far bigger breed of duck) and Miniature Silver Appleyards :) It also helps to know that they get on with chickens quite well too!

Good! What if they have no mother?

Impressive! just i seem to get such conflicting info on their brooder/mothering. I have a quad, and have witnessed mating, wasn't sure whether i'd actually see a thing come from it this spring or not.

calls are super easy to tame, i brooded both my sets in the house.. that meant they had massive hands on care lol Plus they have a separate pen(my calls are on the ground) so they must be carried back n forth to their coop.
