Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Thank you, we are in Utah..pretty dry. They are in a still bator, thinking that mid 60's would be ok anyway.

Any hatch updates??

I opened a couple because it's been over two days since I saw the supposedly pip in the air sac. It wasn't pipped. :( That was yesterday, and I opened another one..the dented one with the cracks..glad I did on that one..it was full of fluid. Let them hang out yesterday to finish up absorbing yolk and blood. I just put one in the brooder about a half an hr. ago. It's waking up!
I can see by the air sacs that not all of the eggs are as far along as some. Makes sense, this was a large clutch! He brought me 14, 13 were viable. I will have to wait and see how it goes. This is frustrating. Not knowing when these were laid. It makes sense though that they aren't all as far along. Like I said, large clutch.

You are doing an amazing job! I can't imagine the frustration of not knowing how far apart they were laid! Keep us posted, praying for a great outcome for you!

Thank you Pekin.....Here are couple of photos of the one I started helping out a couple of days ago. It's still waking up, but it's so cuutte! It already wags it's tail like a big duck does. I didn't known that they did that. :D

Had one pip in the middle. Candled it. It would barely move, that egg was dark all the way. I opened it where the pip was, it was squashed in there! It's now hanging out.
Here's the one cutie. Along with a loner baby I had..boy, was it glad to get company. It snuggles up beside the duck.

It is testing it's leg strength every now and again too. Giving it electrolytes. Only a tiny
drop every few hrs. A sip if you will. :D

One of my blue fawn hens hatched out 4 blue fawns, 1 gray and 1 pastel duckling! They are having a blast running around the yard and playing in all of the puddles created by our recent rain.
