I'm relatively new to ducks, but Crashie's nails did the same thing at some point, and I just clipped them like I would anything else. Her nails are white/clear, which helps a lot to avoid the quick. If you can see the quick, just clip where you won't hit it. If not, probably just gradually clip them down until they're short enough not to hook as much. I held Crash in one hand and clipped with the other. She didn't seem to notice and moved on with lap time right afterwards, so I must have done something right.![]()

I'm still trying to convince her she belongs outside...Sigh. Her parents were traumatized last week because their pool split, and I only had a small pink princess pool to replace it at the time. You'd've thought I put a rabid raccoon in the pen with them! They wouldn't even come out of their coop for two days! I finally had to take them and put them in the water before Malcolm was like, "Oh, hey, water!" And then Trudi followed suit. Silly ducks!![]()
