Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Heh, pretty much. Still, I dunno why it's so hard for them to figure out!
Put them in the bath together... Water is the ducky mojo medium

Kaine can mate twice as many girls in half the time in the water and Tevye has a small chance of being successful in the water - on land he makes Wobbles look like a super-stud.

I agree with Tevyes Dad! Lots of tub time! He'll be able to figure it out a lot quicker in water. Although, Bean may need an escape route once he gets the hang (or balance) of things! Lol

Yeah, me too. When our Calls mate, it's in the water probably about 80% of the time. Just a small tub or litter pan like you use for cats is fine for them. We have some water dishes that are about 10x10 in their pens, and they even mate in those because a few of the females like to sit in them.

I dunno...I've tried that but they don't seem to go for it. Bean likes her bathtime for...bathing. :p Her "boudoir" is her water station in the bedroom. She loves to just lie her head on the rim of the cup. Heck if I can decipher the motives of these silly birbs.

Remember... She's getting older... She'll get from "GET! OUT! OF! HERE! I'm NECKED!" to "Hey there Wobs.... Look how flat I can make my back..."

She may not be ready yet, but even Kaine has a hard time on land and he has three drake feathers (over hormoned jerk) and can over breed all 10 of my girls - well at least there are very few neck feathers in my flock.

Now there's a question - do drake feathers have a direct correlation to hormones? 'Cuz Wobbles has NONE! He had one when he first came of age, but I dunno if he's just in the longest molt ever, the diaper he wears turned it straight or what, but he's got no tail curl at all. How's that for strange?

I don't know but I looked up drake feather someplace (don't remember where) and they said 1 or 2 curly feathers. Tevye had 1 and Kaine had 3 (1 straight up and 1 to each side) so I don't know if there is a real hormone correlation, but in my flock there sure is

I dunno but Henry had three at one point. One lage one and two little off to the side ones, and let me tell you... Once those came his whole attitude changed! He has it out for me BAD!!! He will pace his enclosure when I come out to do yard work or just come to say hi. When I get close the little turd leaps up at me face. That's just when I am outside the pen! When I am in there he attacks me with every ounce of feathered courage he has. Thankfully, he is pretty good to Hazel after morning rounds in their pool... I'm hoping my sweet boy makes his apperance again soon!
