Daddy can we keep em?

If more than one roo is in the pen you will most likely get crossbred chicks. The likelihood depends on who the dominant roo is. If you want to separate your Cochins out you will need to have them separated for 3 weeks before you collect eggs to incubate since hens can store the other rooster's sperm for a few weeks.

What about breeding the red girls to an EE or an Ameracauna and try for some dark green eggs?
I read somewhere that RIR roos can be aggressive to humans, is that true? I would love to see those girls have some daughters laying olive eggs and wearing muffs. lol
Pretty little flock you have there.

True, they won't be sex-linked, but the traits exhibited will be strengthened.

RIR Roos have a notorious reputation--I'd almost rather have an asil roo! That said, I do not know the behavior characteristics of red sex-link males. Brahma roos are usually very mellow. Ditto for silkies, cochins and even orpingtons.

RIR roos have a notorious reputation-- for producing some of the best brown egg laying chickens in the industry.

The sex-link hens you have there are either 50% RIR rooster or New Hampshire roos crossed onto a White Rock or RIWhite hens. They are some of the most docile hens Ive ever had and the roosters probably are also.

With that being said now, I've never had a mean RIRed roo and I've had quiet a few, I've had BRs that were more agressive than any of my RIR roos and most were raised by someone else. The temperments of most roos is based on how they were raised. Any breed roo can be agressive.

Look at this thread on sex-links maybe you can get an idea of what you may expect from breeding red sex-links.
