Daily Duck Egg Report

Yeah, I'd certainly love to be able to cover at least the feed costs with eggs, which was sort of our original plan. Meat ducks sounds like......so not my cup of tea, haha. I'll just keep checking around locally--do you wholesale sell to any local restaurants at all? I was thinking of checking local bakeries to see if they had interest.

I'd really recommend starting with Craigslist.com. Its free and so easy. I set up appointments with customers to pick up my eggs on certain days & times. I work this around my full time job. That's how I started and then I also advertised free with bestfarmbuys.com. Many people search their local area on that site. Customers from my craigslist ads found me and tried my eggs. They loved them and decided to purchase weekly for their restaurants. also these customers recommend you to their family & friends. People seek out duck egg farmers because there are not many of us!

If you have a Harbor Freight Tools store nearby, they carry an inexpensive solar powered panel that might just be right for running lighting to your duck house. My husband is always shopping there!

Reviving the thread. Zero duck eggs here for going on 3weeks. Considering it has been FRIGID, I'm guessing that is why. While the winter was mild, my ducks were laying daily.

13 ducks eggs (1 broken, 3 that my ducks was smart on me yesterday and I couldn't find them because I just add a bunch of hay in their aviary and the ducks hide their eggs real good that make me scratch my head and wonder where they can be.. lol.. found them today).
6 chicken eggs
14 quail eggs

I haven't gotten any duck eggs for over three weeks, our chickens started back up a couple weeks ago, though. I live in northern California and we've been having spring like weather for awhile! Hopefully they'll start soon.

Hi, the post before me are almost 2 yrs old. If anyone is reading this post, my Q is: can an Indian Runner hen lay 2 eggs per day? I have been finding 2 eggs in her nest each morning. I have 2 runners, I assumed I had a drake & a hen. I have been palpating them each night & I am feeling an egg inside the duck I think is the hen & I am not feeling any egg inside the duck I think is the drake!
I am going to desperate them to be real sure.
My ducks are 9 months old. I have been getting 1 egg each day until one week ago, I started getting 2eggs each day.
Any response would begreat, thank you.

I think you have two girls... Once in a great while you might get two eggs but in general poultry produce one egg a day. If you have pictures that would help us tell you (yes separating them will also tell you) also listen to them if they both give a clear quack they are both girls...(boys are raspier and quieter)
