Daily energy needs

What is the daily energy need for a young chicken? I mean how many calories per day it needs to sustain weight and grow?

Probably varies with season. Do they need to keep warm? How much do they forage? How much each weighs? Do they get exercise? etc..

I have a young rooster ~ 5 months old. He lost really a lot of weight due to disease. At the moment his condition is really critical, and i force feed him to keep him alive. He is so weak, that he can barely stand of his feet. I feed him bran so he can take both energy from food and water. Yesterday he ate two handful of dry bran. Was that enough? My plan today is to give a bit more. In his food i also mix amino acid supplement, and a anti-parasite medication just to be sure he is clean.
