I hand milk 3 goats. Going from 1 to three I could really feel it in my hands and forearms. But I'm getting used to it. Hopefully, Maria is bred and I'll be getting a 2 month break.

If you're getting an adult in milk, see if you can test milk her. It is therapeutic to milk by hand. I usually put a tape on that I like to listen to.

I hand milked though was never much fun due to my does Saria and Spots hated being milked. I now have 3 does and plan to get a milker.

I am planning to hand milk but haven't had the chance as I am hoping to have my year old bred anytime ..... and my little one not till fall. Is there any way to tell if they are pregnant other than not going into heat??
