Hello!

I'm gathering materials to start the Daisy Coop and have a couple of questions for those that have built it. The supply list has the following:

16d 3.25 inch framing nails
8d 2.5 ring shank nails
roofing nails
wood screws

Where do I use the 2.5 inch 8d ring shank nails? Each section of the instructions only say to "nail or screw".

TIA!

Welcome to the BYC Family!!

I don't have a Daisy Coop but I didn't use any nails when I build my coop. I resorted to using all screws to help prevent the predators from easily tearing boards or walls off. My hope is by the time the bear, cougar, or bobcat is about to get through with the screws, I will have the shotgun in position.

Screws are good for when you 'screw up' (haha!) too.
Lions and tigers and bears would best kept away using baited hot wire.

Do you have a link to the plans?

The ring shank nails are to attach the sheathing to the walls and the roof. I shoot mine in with a pneumatic nail gun. Same with the framing nails.
