Dakota, the double merle girl has a web page!

For all that were following the double merle Australian Shepherd accident. Dakota is doing well and has her own web page. She has recently gotten a new cohort, a 4 month old Great Pyr. It is amazing to watch a Cheyenne and Dakota play. I will try to add pictures to the web site soon.

I unfortunately have not been following so I don't know the story

But I love Aussies! What a pretty girl(?) I had one that looked similar to her/him when I was a kid. His name was blue(I know original) He was deaf(not that odd, considering breed and color) But he was one of the best dogs I ever had.

Um...what's wrong with Double Merle??

A double merle breeding can produce deaf and blind puppies. Most breeders won't do it. This was an accidental breeding and if you read the whole story you would know it was truly an accident. Dakota is missing most of one eye and the other has pretty bad light sensitivity, but she knows how to protect her liabilities and gets right in there with the rest of the dogs. She is the littlest dog on the farm and she has the least fear! She is definately special!
