Dallas got out of the pin today, my mom came and picked me up from school, our golden retriever got her and killed her.

I don't know what to do about Toaster.

I am so sorry to hear this. Don't do anything hasty, try to spend time with toaster and think about looking for anopther duck the same age or close. I feel so heart broken for you.

Toaster has not moved from the water bowl since I posted. I'm worried about getting close to him and disturbing his... Mourning??

I'm so upset at myself and my dog and Dallas. Why can't she just stay in like Toaster? Why did he attack her? Why didn't i notice that gap?

Life must go on I suppose. Should I think of another duck? Will the three geese coming keep him company?

Toaster needs you now, grieving can still take place but having someone sit with us while we grieve can really help. Just being there. Dogs just do this some worse than others. The goslings will be way to young to be with Toaster, I'd look for another duck as close to same age as possible. And work on the gap.

I'm sorry, that is a shame. Sadly, some dogs prey drive is quite strong and they can do quite the harm, unfortunately, they don't see the duck as our pets, ML has given some great advice.
