speckledhen and Doopy, I love your signs.

One of my favorites shows a picture of a German Shepherd and the caption, "I can get to the gate in three seconds.....Can You?" I've seen various versions of this. Another one I like shows the dog's picture and says, "I eat meat.....Any kind of meat," and another that says, "We don't call 911," under the picture of the GSD.

Whenever I see a thread on an egg eating hen or dog, I see suggestions on booby trapping eggs by putting something nasty in it...why not do the same for human egg eaters

my Grandpa told me that if some stole something they must have needed more then he did but this was a man who lived through the depression and saw the worse and best in people I would never think about taking something that was on someone property If i saw fruit that was hanging over on the road I would still go ask the person if I could buy some from them I do not understand how people can make stealing right in their mind I just can't understand it I live in town but have family that live on a farm and I know they grow a garden and could not believe someone would go on their land and steal something. nut like my DH has said common sense in longer common neith is manners some people think that the world owes them something I don't understand it at all. my chickens were laying a bunch of eggs and have dropped off lately or at least i thought they were now i am wondering if someone is getting into the back yard and taking some for them selves. makes me wonder?

I hadn't realized others had strangers in their COOP. The other day I found red bull cans in my coop. I hadn't been locking everything up all the time because I figured "who would mess with chickens". Well, it seems that people will. I keep them locked up now. Good luck keeping the two leggeds out.

I had a child that would go in the coup and take my eggs and one day they took one of my daughter's 4h rabbits... I heard about it two weeks later from a kid that rides the school bus... You bet I went and got the rabbit...I ended up giving the rabbit to the kid in trade for his allowance. His mother was very kind and didn't know he had stolen the rabbit and she paid for it and took it out of his allowance. I did allow him to keep it and I put an attack rooster in my coup... everyone knows it's there.. I made sure the kid mentioned it's attacks on the schoolbus....(my hens are all in little separate pens but you have to go by the rooster to get to the pens. My dog is scared of him!!! I put eggs that are available for the taking on the porch... (so if someone needs some) My nieghbors can help themselves to the bounty that belong to the earth... he he... and they don't dare complain about my roosters.. ha ha.. (I told em the hens don't lay without one...city folk!!)
