Dampierre

I have one nice big unfriendly roo, but my pullets met an untimely fate. I've got eggs coming from an ebay seller soon. I put a cream legbar hen in with him. The crest should stay, breed back to Dampierre and maybe 2nd cross will result in half black mottled color pattern. I've got mille fleur d'uccle x ameraucana bantam hens who lay white eggs, so the blue eggs might not be much of an issue.
I’d be interested in Dampierre x Legbar Cross hatching eggs once you know he’s fertilizing hers bchomestead! :) When / if you have some you feel like selling and can ship them, please let me know :)
I’m in New Orleans.

I think that’s the breeder I was looking at on eBay too from Alabama last week or so! :) Really pretty birds. I’ll probably buy from him as well once he has another listing (doesn’t right now).

—Most importantly though, “Congratulations!” on your new chickie hatch!! I’m glad you had a good one! :)

Hi, I didn't see this earlier. Well, he's definitely aggressive towards humans, whether that's because of his defined space or not I don't think he's going to change :hmm.

A legbar hen has been in with him long enough to start collecting. I really don't think she cares for him either so I hope she doesn't shut down. I'll mark the calendar to check back toward the end of the summer if I'm successful with hatching chicks.

No problem! 🙂 Thanks for getting back with me on that. I’m sorry he’s aggressive, it is hard to know if it’s their space/stress—it could be the loss of his hens to predators that made him more threatened by everything and reactive to humans, especially if it didn’t start until then. Good luck with him, and thanks again for your time / reply. It would be so neat to see pics on this thread of their chicks later this year if that is to be 👍

Have a great Summer! 🙂

I just put 2 eggs in the inc, so should know if we've got X chicks growing in a few days.
