Our girls have been perfect so far, good chicks, social birds, good layers, friendly. They have one little routine, though that makes us wonder. When we go to the coop to let them out, or at random times while they are are following us around the yard, they will sort of crouch down, partially spread their wings, and stamp their feet, doing a little dance until they are stroked or picked up and told how beautiful they are. They are Golden Comets and deserve the praise, but this is just a riot to see. Is this typical?

If your hens are not laying, they are about to start. Their 'squatting', wing shifting, and feet shuffling are an invitation to mate them. They are lookin' for a little lovin'.

They are laying well, I had an idea that it was a come on, but
I'm no rooster. Confused girls.:lau
