Dang city ordinance!.

Some of the trouble is that neighbours don't know each other anymore. The one that called the town on me was someone I've exchanged all of 3 words to...she was a friend to a neighbour that is Queen of the Street, so there ya go...
She never ONCE came to me and asked me to keep Jerry quiet and if she had I would have tried.

There again is why i approached the neighbors. I had NEVER spoken to the people behind me ....and i had a poor relationship with the others i was worried about. I had to swallow a lot of pride but in the end i really believe they will come to me if needed. It might not work for everyone, but if you have a rooster and are worried about this, its worth trying.

If you make yourself approachable i think the neighbor will be less likely to go running to the town over it. I was VERY lucky with this method. I told the closest neighbor that if they think they hear someone being murdered in my yard, its just my rooster If they are bothered by it to feel free to tell me and i will understand.

Wow, thats about as nicely non-committal as you can get! And they bought that? Obviously, you recognize your good fortune with your particular neighbors... bake them some cookies and take them some eggs

I would hate to test that method, though, when little Johnny puts his baseball through the front window of their house. In almost all cases of dispute, he who has the paper wins the day. In the case of violated ordinances, that is the city hall fascists - and the neighbors who call them in.

Youre committed now, regardless, since the chickens have settled in and are sucking down the resources. Stand on luck and sweet talk for as long as it lasts - you got it like that!

Lurky, that is so funny! i had a Polish hen who turned into a roo. The first time he crowed i honestly thought some young girl was being horribly injured outside. Ran out to see how i could help and found Ricki standing there, so very proud of himself.
