Dang freeloaders!

Anyone else have 1 or 2 of those chickens that don’t lay eggs, aren’t friendly, and are old enough to be laying, yet they boss everyone around? I’ve got 4! We have 6 hens total and the only ones that are laying are the two friendliest(bo and rir) the other 4(1 slw and 3 br) Darn Freeloaders!! #chickenshaming #freeloaders

I don’t have any free loaders - yet. But, maybe they just aren’t ready to lay?

I do have one EE that lays every other day or every two days since the days are shorter.

Post some pics of these freeloaders so you can really shame them.

I have 11 hens and get 1-3 eggs daily from the same 3 or 4 birds! Granted the days are shorter, my girls are finishing molt, and 2nd season hens don't lay much in winter compared to first year hens, but c'mon already! My 4 first year hens should be going strong and only 2 of them are laying! And just my White Rock of my older hens is laying! They are all lucky I like them lol!

I feel your pain. I had some High breed Heritage Breed that I paid good money for that weren't worth a flip for laying. Didn't even lay enough to reproduce themselves and still they eat my feed. Between predators, low light, etc. I have over 20 chickens and I had to go Buy (cringe) eggs. Come spring..... baby chicks.......
