My roo is normally such a good boy. But since his hormones started kicking in, things have changed. He is pecking me (which I promptly pick him up and shake him around a bit), and attacking my BR hen.

His is so good to his other silkie ladies. But for some reason, he hates my BR. She will not let him mate with her, so he grabs her wings and she starts screaming. Is that why he is being so aggressive towards her or is there some other reason?

Should they permanently be separated?

Thanks

I would think he is trying to get her to submit. My BO would resist my roo, and she ended up with a bloody comb a few different times. I finally ended up rehoming my roo because I had my girls first, and I didn't need fertilized eggs. She may eventually submit to him, or they may eventually agree to disagree. Just watch that it doesn't get any rougher than it is now, because I've read other posts of roosters killing hens that didn't submit (obviously very rough, demanding roosters in those cases).

Yes, I definitely will be monitoring their time together. It's just in the morning, he is all testosterone induced and crazy. Oh well.
