Getting my first flock of baby chicks on Monday or Tuesday, and am very excited! Everyone in the family has heard about my "crazy chicken farmer" obsession, and my aunt called up to let me know that there's a free Araucana rooster being given away in her city to a good home only.
Darn, but I would like to have that - they are such pretty birds, I think, and I probably won't get a one in my mixed breed group.
But heck, what would I do with a full grown rooster when I have yet to build the actual coop and a ton of chicks needing attention?
