d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

thanks Cynthia, still waiting on it to come threw, yes I was for a few years, not sure what happened to it, thought I had a good bit of time left on the current membership myself? Will check what you said once the new one comes threw.

Mina, is looking good aint she. And the other one may be showing a bit of the recessive side of mottling. so of my splits here have faint markings on them too

I think Mina is going to be gorgeous. There is one more pullet her age, plus a pullet in the 4 week old group and I think one in the 3 week old group.

Penny has two lav Coch'Anvers and one pullet we have named Lucy-the original reason was the name Mina went with the name Lucy, ala the story of Dracula, however, this is one ditzy chick! She is always going the wrong way, stands completely vertical like a guinea keet, even runs that way sometimes. I call her Wrong Way Lucy. She is adorable, but doesn't seem "all there", if you know what I mean, LOL. To add to the D'Anver coop, I'll be keeping Mina, Lucy and the two lavender Coch'Anver pullets who are being mothered by Penny still.

We still have no idea what the sex of Carly's chick is who is being raised by Molly the Phoenix. It's about 12 days old now. If a pullet, she may stay here, but maybe not. I'm trying not to fill up that coop too quickly so I'll have room for my porcelains in a while.

yes JJ they look about right. In the last pic, that one is looking like one of those golden versions though, cant tell for sure, may just be the pic be he looks yellowish instead of white. Good clean silvers should just be black and bright clean white.

It is pretty white, I got one of those red heat lamps that mess up the color in there. But I am seeing some red leakage on it wings which make me think it will turn out male.

jj

yep I was seeing that too on top of the yellowish color. If that's from the light then he is just showing some leakage from being bred to quail looks like, def 100% male though. The two sitting down in the top pic on the left are what pullets look like

hatched 1 blue red, 1 porcelain, and 1 golden neck Aubrey
blue red is very small , porcelain is huge, and golden neck isnt much smaller then the porcelain
will get pics tomorrow and post them
still might get a dun quail? and another golden neck but i dont think they are going to make it
think they might have died just before they got ready to hatch
