Wow! All the way to Alaska?!    So you have a chance of getting a khaki quail too! You got a great variety of colors! I would have all the colors if I had room

Sorry your Silver Quail eggs didn't develop. Funny how that works. You probably wanted the Silver Quail most and those were the ones that didn't develop, and I wanted the Porcelains the most and the 3 porcelain eggs in my batch didn't develop

Getting two Khaki Quail chicks made up for it though! I hope you end up with something unexpected and special too

I hope you end up with something unexpected and special too 

Khaki are on my wish list )) they are pipping and rocking. I am also expecting some hatchery Sultans and Duccles today. After I ordered them I decided I could no longer worry about boots. So I will brooder them and probably sell them. The only D'uccles here are Millie so it will not be difficult.

One Dun Quail and one one Dun Cuckoo so far. The Dun Quail is all of an hour older andpulling the Cockoos yellow head spot already! The P.O has not called with the hatchery babies yet....

congrats on them.

the hens average about 22 onces and the males 25 ish.

pretty small for chickens. The hens are very quiet, but the cock birds have a hi pitched sreal of a crow, can kinda hurt your ears when you have a ton of them, 3 or so those wont be bad at all and they arent one of those breeds that just crows non stop either which is great.

Can't wait to see pictures! I am curious what the Dun Quail chick looks like since mine were going to be Dun Quail, but I got the Khaki Quail color instead. Is the yellow head spot on your Dun Cuckoo round (girl) or a yellow streak (boy) ?

Once I get them out of the incubator I will. The Dun Quail looks much like the Dun Cuckoo. Minus the spot. I cannot tell yet as far as the shape of the spot on the Cuckoo.

Two Cuckoos just popped out at the same time.
