No, but it can change them back to blue in his off spring. Its a genetics thing just like any other color.
just select a roos that is of blue eggs stock and breed to her, then you'll start getting pullets that will lay blue again

You cannot get a blue chick from two black parents, IF they are truly black. The kicker is that one parent could be very dark blue rather than black and completely fool you. It's a dull black look without sheen, but actually blue. Ive been fooled once or twice by super dark blue males (in the Orps, not this breed).

That could be a black chick with lots of cream/white color on it, I just can't tell from the photo on my monitor.

The eggs were marked Cuckoo and Dun Cockoo. As chicks they were very dark. Maybe the parents are Dun rather than black?

That'd be a question for Aubrey. You lose me when you get into the duns and stuff. I know blue, black and splash and barred, something about lavender and now, a little about the mille fleur and porcelain.

duns exactly the same as blue Cyn, except its brown.
same ratios. except black, dun ( instead of blue) and khaki ( instead of splash)

the chick in the pic looks blue to me from what I can see of it though.
and yes dun can come just like she explained on the blue, from a dull black to brown down to a smokey grey .

the down color can vary a lot too, so if it came from parents marked as cuckoo and dun cuckoo, it obviously shouldn't be blue.

do you have some pics of the parents now that they are grown? That'd help some

You know me, Aubrey. I know what I have to know to get by, LOL. That chick does sort of look blue, but unless the eggs were mismarked somehow, it can't be blue from a dun or cuckoo.

My guess is black. Male (double factored) cuckoo just has a lot of silver showing in the down.

Probably black, yeah. At that age, it's sometimes hard to tell if it's blue or black, especially with so much lighter down.
