d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Aubrey are your eyes okay? Notice Rusty...all dark RUSTY colored hackles and then look at my little love.....beautiful orange and yellow highlights in the hackles, perfect omb, nicer chest......no way would I sign for that package of RUSTY business.

My gosh that Penny is so fat and Aimee is gorgeous as ever and look at Molly...my gosh who did she eat today? LOL. They really are all beautiful Cyn.

Somehow, I just don't think we could fool her, Aubrey. Well, I did offer Rusty the Ridiculous to key west chick, but she found a Serama rooster to replace hers that passed away (though, to me, I'd much rather have a handsome D'Anver boy anytime!). DH is, for some odd reason, rather fond of Rusty. He is comic relief around here, 'tis true (Rusty, not DH, LOL).

So, you think they're looking pretty fine, eh, Aubrey? That Aimee is a handful. Penny used to be my main pocket pet, but Aimee has surpassed her with her "hey, me, me, me, look at me, hold me, pet me, touch me, talk to me, me, me!" antics. Carly is fine being picked up but she isn't the major attention hound that Penny and Aimee are.

To my eye (and apparently Reba's) that Rusty is one fine looking specimen of a Mille Fleur. Except his comb where Rufus has him beat. I like the mahogany color over the orange. Maybe Reba just likes the badboy vibe Rusty exudes. But truthfully they are all nice looking birds.

Just wanted to add, I didn't mean nothing with my earlier comments. I was just playing. I get a lot of practice defending my bamtam Silver Leghorn cockrel ,who is very "athleticly inclined" and apparently real proud of the particular shade of yellow found on the bottom of his feet. He must be because he will not miss a chance to show them to you.

We are all having fun with this Rufus vs Rusty sparring match- I think they're both really handsome. I think overall, Rufus has Rusty beat in body type and comb. I do love Rusty's deeper color, but Rufus is darn good looking, too, IMO.

oh yeah, JJ this is all been in fun, nothing has bothered me from any of this.

Yep I do like the mahogony toned ones myself it makes the white POP better, but yes he is lacking the comb spikes, but still a very good roo none the less.

But there's not a thing in the world wrong with the lighter phase either, hey I have them both in male and female.

Cyn, if no one gets him, I'll just take him back, pretty sure he could get put in his place around here

One of these days, I will have a pile of good birds so I can flaunt my pictures. Leaving in the morning for the Crossroads show, packed 2 pair of jeans and a sack full of money. Hopefully when I get back I will have a good start.

Red travel safe and enjoy the show. It is all good fun with Rufus and Rusty and I took nothing personal believe me, I pick at Cyn all the time and I am worse to the Delaware roo Isaac's fan club...note the avatar.

I like Rusty dark colors...I just ordered eggs for Spring of Mahogany Orloffs. I think they are stunning with the dark color. I do have two babies just hatched but not sure if the mahogany or spangled babies yet.

I am partial to Rufus because his coloring reminds me of my d'Uccle boy, ZoomZoom he has that beautiful yellow and orange. This is my ZoomZoom

Jj I am not sure about the beards ZoomZoom's has not lightened yet and he is almost 2 years old. That is a question I will be interested in the answer to as well.

Thank Aubrey, I love my little boy but I love all my boys for sure.
