d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Bantam Username, your little meep looks just the same as my little quail roo at that age. It's so pretty, which color is it?

Aubrey, love those golden necks, and I have my bator set on 99.5, which is where Brinsea advised to set it. Can't wait till they start peeping!! I knew your brain power would soon come through though, just had to wait.

Now if I can just stand the wait on the little peeps!!

Aubrey, looked at those pictures a million times especially the blue and silver quail, Thought I had it memorized. You snuck those two in on me.

From the pics the male has that mottled pyle look to him but the hens look splash mille fluer. but I am still learning.

Can't wait to go visit Tom Shepard, Just in time for Christmas shopping.

ah ok I'm with you now, I thought you had,
Yes the goldnecks were just taken this afternoon, so they were new

Thanks for the comments everyone, glad yall like them.

Laura Lee, if you are at 99.5 you may be 21 days. Let me know (I'm sure you will) but just curious. Most everyone says 20 day that I sell to, but them most are set at 100 too. So will be interesting to see if it changes. Fingers crossed for you. Also curious to see what you get out of the project colors too.

Is there a difference in the texture(? not sure if its the right word) of a lavender feather when compared to other colors? The reason I ask is my porcelains are about through their molt and there tail feathers seem softer than the other birds. They look kind of ragged.

Its a silver quail. I hope to hatch some more in the spring to give him some ladies and I also want some quail ones too. The only other ones I can get over here are black, blue, millefleur and porcelain, none of which I think are anywhere near as pretty, and then they are still tough to find.

with the lavenders I have noticed on my pheonix bantams that the feathers are thinner and more brittle in the tail and saddles . But on the d'anvers they all seem to be about equal

Will definately keep ya posted Aubrey. Gonna candle one last time tonight, then it's lock down time!!!

Hopefully gonna have 8 new little peeps around Friday!!
