They're adorable! Congrats, LauraLee! Sometimes, one will take 24 hours to get to its feet. It probably was just extra exhausted.

yep, that's all it is, the mottled looks very healthy from the pics, just wore out. Cant believe you stayed up til midnight watching each one....na...yea I can!
Glad it's all over with. Now anxious to see what they end up being color wise....

All are still doing great, little #8 got put in the brooder box at 5:30am he is still weak but he's doing well enough, I think he might just make it!!!

Aubrey, did ya go check out the album? Got step by step hatch on #7!!

I loved every minute of it! And these little guys are soooo much stronger than the ones I got from the hatchery. Just little balls of fuzz, I love it!!!

With the squitters as bad as they are here in Georgia, and the fact that I had some get it about 8 years back, I keep everyone vaccinated for Fowl Pox. It isnt really a bad thing ,well the dry pox arent, but it makes them look awful with all those wart like knots on their face and comb. So just to be safe. I make sure everyone in treated to prevent it.

I was betting that was it since William has mentioned it to me that he vaccinates for fowl pox. If I lived below the gnat line as you do, I'd probably do it, too.

Aubrey, Only one out of 8 D'anver eggs from my young D'anver hatched, I did not candle them so I donot know if they're fertile. I had 8 D'anver and 5 other bantams eggs in the bator, all 5 other bantam eggs hatched but just one D'anver. They all suppose to hatch today but I will wait till Monday to break open the unhatch to see if they're fertile or what went wrong. Could it be that my young roos are not doing their job? What color will the one that hatched be?
