Do you have a recent pic of what he ended up looking like? That would help. I hatched a few that looked similar to him this weekend, with out quail cheeks though. Think mine are going to be brown reds.
New pics will help, I was curious to see what he ended up being anyway.

Sorry I didnt get on much this weekend, been swamped Normal egg stuff, plus it's turkey season here and I have been taking people ever day.. bout to fall asleep right now.

I ended up will 101 hatched this weekend. Lost a few right at the end. Sorry didnt get time to take any pics of them, there'll be plenty more to come though.

everyone pretty much told you some good advice on them, and JJ's pics are a perfect example of what to look for sex difference wise in them. Give 'em time though, no need to rush. I also never cull till they are a year old. They change so darn much as they grow that it's hard to judge them, unless like JJ said they are deformed or something


welp, got to get my butt to bed and start the week all over again, supposed to guide some folks from Tenn. offshore fishing this coming weekend if the weather isnt too bad, so may not be around much next weekend either but I'll try

Aubrey get some rest...I have finals the next 2 weeks and am pulling my hair out already plus the heavy training schedule for the Hariy Legged Horde and the Legion O' Junebug...exhausting. Less than 24 hours old and the Legion was practicing formation drills earlier today in the livingroom. Do you know how hard it is to hold their attention for more than 10 seconds at a time? Butwith JJ hatching triple my numbers, I must really push these recruits!

Two weeks roughly and I will descend upon Northern GA to steal My Little Love from the clutches of "That Woman" and her evil pitcher! Then I too shall have a d'Anver.

The little guy pictured here is very much what I want to start with, I am wanting to buy a dozen D'anver chicks, to begin my flock of them, biased towards wheatens with blue, but open to them all.

so PM me please on anyone who has new chicks available. I am in Northern MI and besides my Icelandics I also have some Mille Fleur D'Uccles started.

Aubrey, candled eggs tonight. Only 5 not developing out of two dozen. I will take that every time on shipped eggs. Too bad 4 of the bad ones were the crele. We will see how the hatch goes. Maybe I can get some more later if need be.

If I am thinking right a crele roo to a blue red hen should get me everything including barred blue reds.

Aubrey! Without the cuckoo roo, all i had were silver quail & normal quail roos running with the silver quail, blue quail, porcelain & black mottled hens. So his parent could be silver quail roo & blue quail hen?

Candled last night got 3 out of the dozen looking kinda iffy, but it's still early, gonna leave them alone and just keep watching. The rest have healthy looking little spider veins. That still leaves 3 of each color, which is great!! At least I'll still get some of all.
