d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

no problem Cole,
you may well ahve ended up with one for the just black by products on the BR egg then if you arent seeing any rusty looking areas.
and yes you got them listed right, pale porcelain, dark mille, and the black is God knows what I guess..
Interested to figure out what's going on on the milles too, got some due off in a few days, will see what they end up being

haha was having a brain freeze. Being new, I'm betting these only have 1 copy of dominate white. Even then being bred together 2/3 would be white based, but the other 1/3 would look normal mille.
So that's got to be it, if they were blue based splash, it would be impossible to get a black phase, so that answers that question now.
He did tell me they were breeding true though, but for $165 plus shipping for a trio folks have been known to lie from time to time

had to read that a few times to understand, but yet again, thank you.
this weekend i will get some more pics and post them, let you know if theyre is any rust looking feathers coming in.
the porcelain is getting wing feathers as of 2 or so days ago , the mille started getting visable wing feathers yesterday and the little black project one hasnt yet.

cole.

I wanted to ask if anyone had any Mille or Porcelain eggs available besides Aubrey? I have some from him already in the bator and won a byc auction for some, but the seller can't fulfill the order and has canceled. I planned my hatching around the orders and Aubrey is so swamped right now, I though I would see if anyone here has some or point me to someone? Or has colors that would work well with Mille, porcelain, lav and bbs that I have for breeding? Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

I wish I did, Melissa, but I have had two out of three of my Mille hens broody. One is back with the flock, but not laying again yet, and the only one who is laying has slowed way, way down after being left in there with three rowdy males and fewer hens to help her out with their attentions. Even my Phoenix went broody in that coop. My poor banty Cochin is slick bald now from all the rooster love and my standard Buff Orp has even lost some head feathers-those little men don't care about size at all!

I hope that the remaining broody will reject her 4 week old chicks soon so she can go back into that flock to lighten the load for the rest of the girls. Gosh, if they do this every spring, I'll never had any eggs for anyone, LOL. I'm not NPIP anyway, though, of course, mine all came from Aubrey.

Thanks for letting me know. I know what you mean about those Roo's. I just thought if anyone had any it would be here. I will probably just order from Aubrey and have to wait, but it will be worth it. Is there more problems shipping eggs about a month from now with the HEAT in GA? Just curious.

You never really know about weather where I live. I live in the mtns, about as far north in GA as Aubrey is south, and we've been in the 80's already for quite some time, though we are expecting a couple of nights in the 30's this week. It's never a good idea to ship in the heat of summer, that's for sure. Better in the dead of winter than when it's too hot. We are usually quite a bit cooler than the rest of the state, at my elevation, especially at night, but last summer was horrible. Just hope we don't have a repeat of that!

JJ, those Buff Columbians sure look lots like the eyeliner kid did! Of course, she is now just a very pretty Mille girl, but was so different than the rest of them at the beginning.
