Well, our little lady passed this horribly revolting excuse for an egg at some point this morning :sick. Currently, she’s happily foraging with the ‘Scovy girls. I started offering the Calcium Citrate today. Crossing fingers! :fl

Assuming you are also offering Oyster- or egg-shells: Is she eating those? - Like my Runners sometimes come running from the far corner of the property just to grab a bite of shells. Just the calcium in the layer-feed and the Ca-citrate might not cut it.

Oh, she definitely snacks on oyster shells as well. She simply can’t seem to put her calcium to good use!

I guess I should be happy that this “egg” had a shell...of sorts... That’s an improvement over the several days prior!

Crazy thing to try: She might not be able to digest the Ca properly. If your Oyster-shells are in a dry spot, no rain, mix them with Ascorbic-Acid powder (Vitamin C), that helps the body to better absorb the calcium from the food.

Feeling sad and frustrated this evening. Today was supposed to be my one halfway decently scheduled day this week at work, and I ended up having to stay 2 and 1/2 hours late instead. I promised my duckies they would get plenty of fresh air and sunshine today, but broke that promise, and now Daphne is showing more severe symptoms (staying in place, straining) and I’m very discouraged. Bathing and reaching for the emergency calcium gluconate. Please pardon my negativity, but I’m worried and wishing I’d been able to be home earlier for her.
