I’d say your Muscovys will lay probably March that is when mine start.

Sounds like a good time to start! I’m a tad bit worried about Goon 2 (black/white hen) as she probably only weighs 4.5 lbs. She seems healthy, just tiny. Hopefully, she will only lay tiny eggs!

Same thing here! everyone took a bath today too. We even have the sar cement mixing bathtub as Daphne.

The cement mixing tub makes the best winter “pool”! However, the ducks wish they could each have one. They were NOT ok with sharing today.

I have one about that size she lays normal Scovy size eggs they are hardy girls.

Yup we had the same thing here. Head bobbing, some nipping and my black runner running in circles, flapping his wings, which drives the others nuts for some reason!

Sometimes that head bobbing move can be a mating ritual. Really. I've seen it many a time with my flock.

Oh yes it’s that time of year although my Runners head bob all year round my Runner drake has to be pooped. lol.

I just love that Daphne - she's so beautiful!!! The Goons are too - but there is just something about Daphne - maybe it's the chin LOL!

Almost 45 degrees + sun meant the ducks got an extra special treat today. I brought out the small baby pool and everyone enjoyed the extra room! Now, they are enthusiastically preening in the sun. Yay for a brief respite from winter!
