Thank you all for your prayers and responses. I will respond more individually tomorrow. For now, my internet isn’t working and I have to reply on my tiny phone...

Anyways, Daphne had an eventful day and is home safe and sound. DVM was unable to feel an egg, and initially diagnosed her with Salpingitis and prescribed Clavamox and flushed her reproductive tract with
diluted betadine After some thought, she called me again and asked to do an x-ray. I agreed, and they found a giant soft-shelled egg. They administered Oxytocin, and got that sucker out. Now, she’s on an oral Calcium supplement and I’m to switch to Mazuri Waterfowl Maintenance, which I’ve already ordered. She’s not on Clavamox, although that might change if she doesn’t improve.

My husband brought her home and reports that she had a very happy reunion with her sisters and she seemed to be doing great this evening. She was already in bed when I got home.

Thank you all again. I will update again tomorrow after work... hopefully on something other than my phone!

Thanks for the update. Reproductive problems are no fun, I recently had a Pekin pass, and during the necropsy, I found several lash eggs in her abdomen.

There are surgical options, but they can be prohibitively expensive and dangerous for the duck. There are also hormonal implants that work for a few months or less, but they are not allowed (not the right word, but my brain isn’t working properly right now) in all areas. The implants, from what I’ve heard, can also cause decreased activity and appetite, and often don’t last as long as they are supposed to.

I'm curious, is she being fed any type of layer feed? I only ask because several family members are retired vets/vet techs who use to specialize in farm calls. They always recommended against layer feeds especially for ducks with reproductive issues and instead an all flock feed (also known as maintenance) with a bowl of oyster shells on the side. My ducks free-range during the day, but they have 24/7 access to all-flock feed (I really like Kalmbach's Non-GMO 16%) in their coop along with a bowl of oyster shells. I have never had any reproductive issues or even a single case of a hen being egg-bound. I also have found several articles written from individuals who's vets had the same recommendation to avoid the layer feed and once they switched to a maintenance feed their issues went away. Thank you for this information My vet recommended changing to Mazuri Waterfowl Maintenance. She said that the Calcium/Phosphorus ratio in her current feed might be contributing to her issues! Do you happen to know if ducks need to be switched over to a new diet slowly like dogs and cats, or can it be done all at once?
