Hi I hatched six eggs from my Dark Brahma rooster. Two chicks hatched from my salmon favorelle hen. Two more hatched from my golden laced wyandotte hen. And the last two from my ISA brown hen. I was just wondering what their genetics would look like and if their would be any ways to differentiate male from female chicks. Here are some pictures. The dark ones are wyandotte the ones with brown stripe are favorelle and the all yellow one is ISA brown. Thanks

Do you know which hatched from which? I’ll calculate the crosses.

Yes. The first picture with the three chicks, the one all the way to the left is from an ISA brown hen and the dark brahma rooster. The middle one is from a golden laced wyandotte hen with the dark brahma rooster. The one all the way to the right is also from the ISA brown hen and dark brahma rooster. The second and third pics are of the same two chicks. The one to the right is another golden laced wyandotte x dark brahma cross. The one to the right is a salmon favorelle hen with the dark brahma rooster. Thanks

Gold laced wyandotte x - the pullets will grow up to be partially silver laced and/or partially penciled (silver penciled is the coloration of dark Brahma hens). The cockerels will look much the same as the father, probably with some gold leakage and yellowing in their hackles and saddle feathers. They also have a high chance of being partially silver laced.

Salmon faverolle x - the pullets will likely be partially silver penciled with varying amounts of red leakage. The cockerels will look like the father except they could have yellowish hackles/saddles and red leakage on their shoulders, like salmon faverolle roosters.

ISA brown (aka red sex link) x - the pullets will either be solid white or white with black tail and neck feathers and possibly some penciling on their back. The cockerels will be white, white with red leakage (especially on their shoulders), or white with black tail and neck feathers (possibly with red leakage).

Definitely continue to update this thread if you can with pictures of the chicks as they grow.

They’re beautiful! Looks like I missed a possibility for the ISA brown x chicks- they could get silver columbian without dominant white, giving them black tail and neck feathers. I updated my other post.

Thank you! Very interesting. I also have no idea which are hens and which are roosters. I’ll keep updating to see some changes
