dark egg layers

I live in Oklahoma and I'm interested in BCM's, Barnevelders, and Penedesenca breeds is there anyone close who raises these breeds and would have chicks for sale?

larrybyrd - Have you tried Craigslist? You'd be surprised how many people locally have dark egg layers for sale. If not that, buy an incubator. Then you can get dark egg layers from just about anyone online here, because chicks are too expensive for us to ship.

They lay a nice dark brown egg.

I think what people want to know is what number on the scale do they lay?

You can still get "nice dark eggs" from hatchery Cuckoo Marans, but they're only darker than the average brown, and rate maybe 5 on the Marans chart.

And, I'm curious - Do you have photos of your stock, not just chicks?
