Dark eggs from store hatchery

I’ve been wanting to add a dark layer to my flock, but am hesitant to buy from our local farm store. I believe they buy from McMurray and Hoover. I’m afraid it wouldn’t lay as dark as advertised. I don’t need more chickens, so if I added another I want it to have truly dark eggs. Where do you get your chocolate layers? What breed do you have?

Search up black copper marans or dominant copper chicken, some of the darkest eggs I’ve seen, almost a purple bronzy color...Beautiful
