Ash, who was walking through the trees, scenting for deer, stopped. His eyes flashed. No one treats the Alphas like that, he thought, looking at Autumn with disappointment. "Do you want me to go talk to her?" He asked Winter.

Ash crept forward softly, inspecting two small, breathing balls of fluff. He drew in his breath realizing that they were two wolf pups, not more than two days old, lying on the forest floor, abandoned, hungry, and shaking.
