Dark purple growth around vent and sticky butt

Hello ~ I have a friend who has a hen in his flock who is not well. Her legs have gone a bit white and scaly and her vent had slight stick butt, which we gently cleaned with warm papertowels. His biggest worry is that just below her vent, it is dark purple (almost blackish) and swollen looking. Almost what you would picture a cancerous growth to look like. She does not roost at night and is becoming ungroomed. Her eating and drinking is also off. Any ideas?

She has a mite infection and probably a secondary infection. Put her on electrolytes and see about Duramycin treatment.
