Hi, I have a variety of chicks (5 total), about 8-10 days old and i’m noticing more poops that look like dark chocolate pudding. is this normal? i’m going to attach some photos for reference. i do feel like today i’ve seen more than previous days, i’ve seen 2-3 of the chicks poop this kind of poop, it could be all of them doing it though, im not positive.
thank you for your help!!

Those look like cecal poops to me. Cecal poops are done about every 8 - 10 droppings normally. They come from the cecal pouches in the digestive tract and look different than the regular droppings. Color and consistency can vary but they usually look quite different than a regular dropping, they also tend to be more smelly. If they chicks are acting normally I wouldn't worry. Very watery, bloody or mucousy droppings would be a concern.
