Dark spot in duck egg

I'm incubating a duck egg and I've noticed a dark spot next to the embryo that keeps getting bigger, does anyone know what it is? it's day 9, I'm hoping it's just the eye of the embryo but i'm a little worried. here's a pic

Your all good. Just an eye nothing to be concerned about. I loved hatching ducklings it was just very stressful on hatching day. Is this your first time?

Yep, that’s your little embryo’s eye! If you watch for a bit it’ll appear and disappear as the embryo moves.

yeah, hatching eggs can be a little stressful. And ok thanks! i stress over small things so i was just worried. Also no, I've hatched several other eggs but this is the first time i've tried candling before day 24.

ikr, watching the embryo grow and form is an amazing experience (at least for me it is)
