Dark spots on my Golden Buffs' comb

Can anyone tell me why my hens have these dark spots on their combs.? The spots don't have any texture. They feel like part of the comb.

Welcome to BYC. More than likely, it is from pecking or an injury that has caused a little bleeding. Blood turns black on the comb when it dries.

The spots aren't spreading or getting any darker, so I guess they'll be okay thanks for the reply.

Do you have a rooster? I've found that when a rooster treads a hen, he can sometimes grab her comb instead of the feathers on the back of her head. This can cause bleeding and bruising.

Nothing to worry about, unless it starts getting worse.
