I heard the 'washing their food' thing is a myth, based on people seeing them feeling for crayfish in a stream, then coming up with one and eating it. But I only have hearsay, and regardless, they are very smart, and very dextrous.

After you get him, keep checking there could possibly be more than one raccoon. When they are around here they usually invite their friends, then I have to break up the party .
