Dawn Ducks.

Do ducks lay before dawn. I'm getting Runner Ducks and want to know if i can let the free range all day long.

My runners do not always lay before dawn. I know that often they lay around 3 or 4 a.m. But sometimes someone isn't ready to let her egg drop until 10 a.m. Mostly they are all done by 8 or 9. So I think we can guess that if you let them out at dawn, there will be some eggs hither and yon.

My hen is a 'night layer' I went out at 3 am and the egg was cold to the touch but not frozen. I think she is starting to lay past 10:00 pm but before midnight.
