Question - Two of the eggs I have in the incubator seem odd. When I candle them you can see what looks like an air pocket but when you move the egg around the contents don't move and seem solid. I am guessing that this is not a good thing since all my other eggs look different.

Does anyone know what's going on with these eggs?

Thank you!

I had the same thing with some duck eggs I found in a hidden nest. No movement at all when I candled them, so I cracked them open to see what was up. They were cooked! It's been so dang hot here in Texas that they literally hard boiled before I found them.

Were yours "found" eggs or fresh?

Oh wow.........cooked?? They are in the incubator with lots of other eggs. They don't smell...but I should probably take them out right? I mean there is no way they could be okay right???

Thank you.

What isn't moving? The air sac shouldn't move. Only the yolk should move and sometimes the yolk isn't easily visible so it might appear that nothing is there or moving. They would be considered clears though and no good at this point anyway. If it has veins and everything then I have had a few eggs that due to lack of turning attached to one side of the shell. They quit around day 10 every time and when broken open some white would pour out while the membrane and yolk with blob and veins remained hanging from the inside of the shell. If they still have veins I'd leave them. If they are dead the blood will drain out of the veins to make a blood ring within a few days. Just check them 2 days from now and it should be obvious if they died or are still growing.
