How much movement should I see after 11 days of incubation? I have a tan rhode island red egg, making it harder to candle and was not sure how much I should see move. The veining looked good and I thought I saw movement... but very subtle.

Advice?

They sound like they are moving right along nicely. Sometimes on the darker shells it is harder to see, but the veining is a good indicator of how well they are progressing too. Good job!

I finally got a really good flashlight and saw my first mover today at day 8. I always checked for veining, sure sign there is something good going on in there

The words of encouragement are helping.... You would think that I am carrying this egg as my own child! I cannot image how obsessed I am going to be when I finally do decide to get pregnant.

I have to admit watching the cool video posted earlier today about day 11 movement is what made me worry. It barely flickered a millimeter... definitely not like the video!

Get you a small LED Maglite and you can see EVERYTHING. I have dark brown eggs and can see very well with my little Maglite flashlight I got at Lowe's. Couldn't see squat until I converted it to LED bulb though.

I have been using a 90 lumen LED flashlight. I can see the veins in my hands... so I know its good. I think I might buy the 110 or 140 lumen LED flashlight to see if it makes a difference.

There would be movement on day ll but in a darker egg like you have it is harder to see but the veining means the chick is alive. I have duck eggs and i candled on day 3 to 9. I saw some veins but I never saw the embryo and I didn't know why I couldn't see the embryo, so I waited till day 12 and I candled one of them again and there was a black shadow of the bird moving with veins coming out. It is so cool!

I used a $3 little LED flashlight to get the movement in my video. I've noticed that the lighter brown bantam eggs are the ones that show the most movement. It's harder to see movement in the darker brown standards size eggs.
