I've had great results candling with a LED flashlight. It even shines right through brown egg shells.

Yes, I would call it a pocket size...it has 8 bulbs and really powers through the shell to illuminate it very well.

No prob. I don't much about it because my dad got it for me. It has the word "GRIP" on the side with a pic of fist, lol. I really like it.
